In four seasons under head coach Phillip Hatchett, the WKU Men's Golf team has steadily climbed the ladder at the Sun Belt Conference's Men's Golf Championships, and they did it again on Wednesday, this year finishing in sixth place with a 27-over 981 team score.
Senior Keith Tooley, Jr., fired a two-under 70 on the day to help WKU improve their round score by 11 shots, finishing the second round with a three-over 291 to tie for fourth place on Tuesday at the Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship.
Led by Taylor Thompson's even-par day on the course, the WKU men's golf team finished in a three-way tie for sixth place after one round of play on Monday at the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championships.
Two Hilltoppers finished in the top 15 as the WKU Men's Golf team jumped five spots between rounds to pick up their highest finish of the spring, a fifth place showing at the Ole Miss-hosted Reunion Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
After getting delayed by four hours due to rain, the WKU Men's Golf team was able to play through the first 12 holes of the opening round at the Reunion Intercollegiate, finishing the day tied for 4th.
