Fall Camp 2016 Practice Report - August 17

Aug. 17, 2016

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A week ago, head coach Jeff Brohm stressed that his offense needed to find more consistency, and through Wednesday’s practice, he was pleased with the direction that side of the ball had taken.

“We’re making progress – we just have to get consistency from the quarterback position,” Brohm noted. “I like the progress. (The quarterbacks) have been more consistent. I think (all three veteran quarterbacks) give us a different element.”

With a season opener date against Rice set for Sept. 1, the mood and direction of camp gradually shifts towards preparing for an opponent, but Brohm indicated following practice that the Hilltoppers have been finding ways to stay focused on their conference foe all along.

“For the most part, we always try to have a 15-minute segment on Rice every day,” Brohm said. “We’re getting a head start on that. We want to get better (in camp). I think it’s important we go against our best players on both sides of the ball. The quarterback needs to see the best defense we can put out there and get as many team settings, where the quarterback has a pass rush in his face, to prepare for the season.”
