Baseball Season Opener Rained Out, Set For 2 P.M. Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Baseball’s season opener against Southern Illinois was rained out Friday afternoon and has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Nick Denes Field.

WKU and Southern Illinois will play one game Saturday and face off in a double-header beginning at 11 a.m. (CT) Sunday. WKU’s Justin Hageman will start Saturday’s game while fellow seniors Austin Clay and Jake Thompson will start in the Sunday games.

Scott Thompson will have the call of all three games on the Hilltopper IMG Radio Network, which can be heard on local airwaves at ESPN 1450 AM or online at WKUSports.tv.

All 55 of WKU’s regular-season games will be broadcast by the Hilltopper IMG Radio Network and the audio stream will be available on WKUSports.tv. A subscription to WKUSports.tv runs at $9.95 monthly or $79.95 for an entire year. Every one of WKU’s games can also be heard on local radio in the Bowling Green area on ESPN 1450 AM.  

The first 500 fans to enter Nick Denes Field for Saturday’s game will receive a free schedule magnet while Sunday’s game will be the debut of WKU’s new season-long promotion, Sunday Fun Day. Sunday games will be free to children ages 12 and under throughout the season as the youngsters will have the opportunity to run around the bases on the field and get autographs from WKU players following the game.
