Pam Herriford has served as Associate Athletics Director with responsibility for compliance of NCAA rules for all WKU sports programs since 1991. She also serves as WKU's Senior Woman Administrator.
Herriford was originally hired by WKU in August 1977 as the first full time female assistant athletic trainer and continued in athletic training until 1981.In August 1981, she became Coordinator of Women's Athletics and in 1985 was named Assistant Athletic Director and SWA.
Herriford has served on numerous committees throughout her career. She has served as Chair of the Sun Belt Conference SWA group and is currently a member of the WKU Diversity Committee and on the Board of Directors for the WKU Alumni W-Club. Herriford served a previous stint as W-Club President.
Herriford previously served multiple terms on the NCAA Research Committee and the NCAA Softball Committee and has served as tournament director for NCAA Women's Basketball Regional and First/Second Round games at E.A Diddle Arena. She has also worked as Sun Belt Conference tournament director for women's basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross country and softball and has been involved in the hosting of the annual state of Kentucky girl's high school basketball "Sweet Sixteen" since it first came to the WKU campus in 1986.
A native of Franklin, Ky., Herriford graduated from WKU in 1975 with a Bachelor's degree in physical education and also obtained a Masters in education in 1977. A letterwinner in tennis and track, she and her husband, Ron, have been married 37 years. Both of their children are WKU graduates: daughter, Kim (2003); son, Keith (2006).
