WKU Receives "Markie" Award for Best Marketing Campaign

Western Kentucky University's Athletic Marketing Department and Gerald Printing have been awarded a "Markie Award" for Best Marketing Campaign by the Professional Marketing Association (PMA) of South Central Kentucky for WKU's Football Marketing Campaign - "See It. Believe It. Achieve It." 

This campaign was a collaboration between the WKU Marketing department and Gerald Printing.  Design work was completed by Barry Arnold of Gerald Printing.

"We appreciate the opportunity to work with the staff in the WKU Athletic Marketing department and create an effective and eye catching marketing campaign for their football program," says John Halderman who is the WKU Athletics Sales Representative from Gerald Printing.  "Gerald Printing is a first class business with great people.  Once we came up with the concept, they created a fantastic campaign that we are so proud of.  Gerald Printing constantly puts the customer first and I thoroughly enjoy working with John and Barry on numerous projects," said WKU's Director of Marketing Lindsay Thomas.

The Professional Marketing Association (PMA) of South Central Kentucky recognized the talents and efforts of several marketing materials at the 8th Annual "Markie Awards" held on Tuesday, Nov 17th, 2009 at the Holiday Inn, University Plaza Hotel.  The Markie Awards allow members to submit entries for this event that recognize excellence in the advertising and marketing industries throughout South Central Kentucky. This year's event drew more than 50 entries in 13 different categories including best brochure, best radio advertisement, best specialty item, and best marketing campaign just to name a few.

Gerald Printing was awarded two other "Markie Awards" at this year's event: Best 3 to 4 color Brochure for Chandler Park's Brochure, designed by Barry Arnold-Gerald Printing and Best Hodge Podge for WKU's Cultural Enhancement Series Poster & Post card, designed by Matt Tullis - WKU Art Department.
