WKU’s athletic marketing department was honored with a Markie Award for the 2010 WKU Football Intro Video the department produced in conjunction with Row27 out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The video is played on the Houchens-Smith Stadium video board at each home game prior to the team’s entry onto the field prior to kickoff.
“Working on this intro video with Row27 and Coach Taggart was a tremendous and enjoyable experience,” said WKU’s Director of Marketing Lindsay Thomas. “Row27 does excellent work, and I hope our fans enjoy the intro video on game day. We certainly appreciate being recognized by the Professional Marketing Association.”
The Markie Awards were created by the Professional Marketing Association (PMA) to recognize work produced by marketing professionals in the Bowling Green area. Awards were judged by an out of town marketing agency and evaluated based on creativity and effectiveness derived from the project’s marketing objective, target audience and results.
Bowling Green area businesses and organizations submitted a record number of entries for the Markie Awards last month. The winners were named at the 10th Annual PMA Markie Awards Banquet at the Holiday Inn University Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, November 16.
WKU Department of Athletics supports the university’s vision by providing a comprehensive, high quality education for student-athletes and serving the university community, alumni and friends through success and distinction within an environment of uncompromising integrity.
