Western Kentucky Enjoys Successful Weekend

Bowling Green, Ky. - With the men's soccer team's 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon over No. 11 Bradley, Western Kentucky varsity sports finished the weekend undefeated on the weekend. The soccer team won on Friday night by a 4-0 tally over Eastern Illinois.

The Lady Topper volleyball team defeated Arkansas State on Friday evening, 3-1 while sweeping Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday afternoon, 3-0. Saturday's victory for the Lady Toppers gave head coach Travis Hudson his 100th career victory.

Saturday evening saw the WKU football team capture the Ohio Valley Conference Championship for the first time since 1980 when they defeated Eastern Illinois 34-12 at L.T. Smith Stadium/Jimmy Feix Field. The Hilltopper victory set off a wild celebration inside the stadium when head coach Jack Harbaugh accepted the OVC Championship trophy.

Coach Curtiss Long's men's and women's cross country teams finished second at the Sun Belt Championships in Little Rock, Ark.

With this weekend's success, no Western team has lost in head-to-head competition in the past 11 days.
