Greenwood Optimist Club Country Ham Breakfast Set For November 8

Bowling Green, Ky. — The Greenwood Optimist Club’s 24th annual Country Ham Breakfast, an event to support Western Kentucky University’s men’s and women’s basketball programs, will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, at 440 Main Restaurant located on the Square in downtown Bowling Green.

The cost is $8 per person, with tickets available in advance at all area U.S. Bank locations or at the door the day of the event. U.S. Bank, Jr. Food Stores, Kirby Funeral Chapels and 440 Main Restaurant sponsor the breakfast, which will be served from 7-10 a.m. (CST).

Western fans are invited to enjoy a hearty country ham breakfast with all the trimmings while visiting with coaches, players and staff from both the 2003-04 Hilltopper and Lady Topper squads.

All proceeds benefit the Greenwood Optimist Club College Heights Foundation Scholarship Fund. The fund provides academic scholarships for Bowling Green and Warren County students every year, as well as fifth-year aid to assist WKU basketball players in completing their degree requirements after their athletic eligibility has expired.
