Red Towel Diaries are the writings of WKU's student-athletes about their feelings and observations before, during and after a game or road trip. A New Red Towel Diary will be posted about once each week by a different athlete in a different sport.

THE NIGHT BEFORE OUR FIRST HOME MATCH!
Dear Red Towel Diary,
Everyone is extremely excited about our first home match tomorrow against Murray State. We have been on the road for the first three weeks of our season and we're ready to play in front of our home crowd. It's going to be a tough match since it will be our first game in almost a week and a half due to the terrorist acts. Besides that, Murray State is going to be a tough team to play against, and we will have to play well to come away with a victory. The team feels prepared because we've had a great week of practices and we're ready to play in Diddle Arena.
We have high expectations this season and we have worked incredibly hard for the past nine months to put ourselves in a position to achieve our goals. We have enough talent on this team, but it's just going to be a matter of putting all the pieces together, and getting some breaks along the way!

THE DAY OF OUR FIRST HOME MATCH!
Dear Red Towel Diary,
Everyone is really pumped for our match today. We are just thankful we are actually playing at home instead of on the road. The atmosphere in the locker room before the game was fun even though everyone seemed focused.
Our game was pretty chaotic, unfortunately. We were excited that we won in three games, but we did not play well at all, which was frustrating. We couldn't get things going during the match and we felt we weren't controlling the tempo of the match at all. Murray State played very hard, and they were extremely loud and emotional on the court.
Overall, I think the feeling after the match was that we were disappointed with our play on our home court. A win is a win, but we know that we could have played much, much better, especially in front of our fans. We know we're going to have to play much better for us to win at Florida International this weekend. FIU is having a great year so far and we are going to have to pick up our level of play to come away with a victory. As we get into conference play, it's crucial that we pick up road wins, so FIU will be a big test for us.
