Hilltopper Nation Gives Thumbs Up for Lane at Football Game

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Midway through the second quarter of WKU's game against Southern Miss, 23,252 fans gave a "Thumbs Up for Lane" to help bring a smile to the face of a young Kentucky boy who is fighting cancer.

Lane Goodwin, a 13-year old Beech Grove, Ky., resident, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer when he was 10 years old.

All around the world, from Kentucky to Colorado and as far away as Japan, people are giving a "thumbs up" for Lane to show their support for the boy.

This includes 23,252 fans at WKU's Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium during its game against Southern Miss on September 22.

The crowd was the largest in WKU history, and the entire Hilltopper Nation is behind Lane as he courageously fights the disease.
