“PepsiAmerica has done a terrific job of commemorating our football national championship with the new Code Red cans,” said Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Jim Clark. “The exposure this will generate statewide for WKU and our football program is tremendous, and provides yet another example of the benefits this partnership provides to both parties.”
The special WKU cans, only 700,000 of which will be produced, are currently available in the Louisville, Lebanon, Hopkinsville, Owensboro and Bowling Green markets.
The Hilltoppers captured the school’s first national championship on Dec. 20 with a 34-14 win over McNeese State. This year’s squad opens the 2003 season with a home game against Union (Ky.) on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. (CST).
