WKU Athletics Announces Title Changes in Marketing and Communications

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart announced Thursday two title changes in Athletic Marketing and Athletic Communications/Media Relations as well as staff hirings throughout the athletic department that have occurred over the summer.

Lindsay Boyden has been named Associate Athletic Director for Marketing after spending the past two-and-a-half years as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing. Boyden started in Bowling Green, Ky., in November 2007 as an account executive at IMG before moving to Director of Marketing at WKU in the summer of 2008 until her promotion to Assistant Athletic Director in February 2011. Boyden oversees all advertising and promotional efforts for all 19 sports at WKU, executes special events, helps to manage the social media sites for WKU Athletics as well as supervises the WKU spirit squads.

Michael Schroeder has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Communications following 14 months as Director of Athletic Communications. In his new role, Schroeder assumes all oversight of the Athletic Communications/Media Relations department, and he will continue as the media relations contact for the nationally-recognized Hilltopper men's basketball team.

In addition, the Athletic Communications/Media Relations staff has been rounded out with the hirings of Kyle Neaves as Director of Athletic Communications/Media Relations and Robert Sampson and Whitney Tarpy as Assistant Directors. Neaves comes to WKU after two years at Southern Miss, and Sampson and Tarpy spent 2012-13 as assistants in the WKU office. Neaves is the primary media relations contact for Hilltopper football, Sampson will serve as secondary football contact and primary women's basketball contact and Tarpy will oversee publicity for WKU volleyball, softball and swimming and diving.

Larry Cash comes to WKU as Assistant Director of the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation following six years as a Development Assistant for the K Fund at the University of Kentucky. Born in Bowling Green, Cash earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in 2003 and his master's in sports administration from Eastern Kentucky University 2006. He will complete his MBA from Morehead State in the fall of 2013.

After previously working at WKU as a student worker in Athletic Marketing and with Hilltopper IMG Sports Marketing in 2010-11, Chelsie Cummings was named Ticket Sales Associate after spending time as marketing manager at Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac. Cummings graduated from WKU and currently resides in Bowling Green.
