Bowling Green, Ky. - The annual U.S. Bank Golf Classic, presented by Outback Steakhouse and WBKO-TV, will be played Friday (Sept. 20) at Hartland Municipal Golf Course in Bowling Green.
The event benefits Western Kentucky University's Hilltopper Athletic Foundation (HAF) for the support of scholarship assistance for WKU student-athletes. Last year's event raised more than $11,000 for scholarship support.
The event will feature both morning and afternoon sessions with early registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. (CDT) followed by a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. The afternoon competition begins with registration at noon followed by a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start.
Beginning at 12 noon, Outback Steakhouse will provide lunch at Hartland for all participants. Pepsi-Cola and JB Distributors will provide complimentary beverages throughout the day's activities.
And, Hilltopper coaches and athletic administrators will be on hand to visit with participants.
Players will compete for a variety of prizes, including a $10,000 hole-in-one contest sponsored by Blake, Hart, Taylor & Wiseman along with Paul Davis Systems. And, there will be awards for the first, second and third place teams.
The entry fee ($100 per person) includes green and cart fees, a team photo and the luncheon. In addition, hole sponsorships - including tee signage and registration for a four-person team - are available for $500.
Entry forms may be obtained at any U.S. Bank location in Bowling Green, Scottsville and Russellville; Outback Steakhouse; WBKO-TV; Otte Golf Center; Clubhouse Golf; Tee-to-Green Driving Range; The Liberty Group; Duke's Sporting Goods; Hibbett Sports; Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers; JB Distributors; Hartland Golf Course; and at the HAF office, temporarily located in the Old Bowling Green Junior High School building at 1141 Center Street.
