WKU Athletics Wins Five Medals At NACMA Convention

Bowling Green, Ky. — Western Kentucky University’s Athletic Department claimed five medals at the 16th annual National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention in Orlando, Fla. The 2006 football “Be Strong, Be Loud, Be Ready” marketing campaign earned four medals and the 2006 women’s basketball marketing campaign earned a medal as well.

The football campaign received a silver medal in the ticket sales piece category for the 2006 WKU football ticket brochure. The football campaign also earned three bronze medals for the “grandma season tickets” radio commercial, in the single newspaper display advertisement category for a full-page color advertisement, and the single-day attendance promotion category with the “Warren County Football Day For WKU” promotion.

The women’s basketball campaign also received a bronze medal for the television commercial category for their season ticket commercial.

The NACMA awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions since 2003. Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations. A total of 922 entries were received by the NACMA awards program for the 2006-07 year.
