Western's Bacon Departs For Position At Kentucky Wesleyan

Bowling Green, Ky. — After serving as Western Kentucky University’s Director of Development for University Athletics the last four years, Claude Bacon announced his resignation in order take a position with Kentucky Wesleyan. Bacon will serve as the Assistant to the President at KWC, a role in which he will oversee development, admissions and athletics.

“It has been a great experience working for Western, and an honor to work for my alma mater. I’ll always remember the many new relationships and friends that I made through athletics over the last four years,” Bacon said. “WKU presented the opportunity to work with many great coaches, tremendous people in the administration as well as wonderful constituents involved with the athletic program. I also worked with a development staff who made my time here a great experience.”

In each of his four years at WKU, Bacon increased the amount of funds raised for the entire athletic program. He helped create enhancement funds specific to individual programs as well as other initiatives to assist the Department of Athletics. Bacon’s role on the Hill also involved creating new relationships and strengthening old ties to former Hilltopper and Lady Topper student-athletes.

“We are grateful for Claude’s dedication and commitment to Hilltopper Athletics. He has positioned us well for future fund raising success,” said Hilltopper Director of Athletics Dr. Wood Selig. “Claude will be missed by all. We thank him for all of his fund raising contributions for our 400 student athletes and 20 intercollegiate athletic programs.”

Bacon earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from WKU.
