WKU Earns Graduation Rate Award at Sun Belt Conference Meetings

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU was given the Sun Belt Conference Graduation Rate Award for 2012 Tuesday night at the conference meetings in Destin, Fla., which is awarded annually to the league institution with the highest student-athlete graduation rate in the given year.

In addition, Kyle Chettleburgh of the track and field and cross country program was chosen as WKU's representative on the Sun Belt Conference Leadership Team. Each school nominates a student-athlete for the team based on leadership, sportsmanship, community service, citizenship and academic excellence.

The conference also honored the male and female student-athletes of the year and the post-graduate scholar athletes of the year. The Sun Belt Conference’s annual meetings include the senior staff of the conference office along with each member school’s Chief Executive Officer, Faculty Athletic Representative, Athletic Director, Senior Woman Administrator, Head Football Coach, Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Head Women’s Basketball Coach. The meetings conclude Wednesday morning.
