Degrees obtained include biology, civil engineering, entrepreneurship, finance, health sciences, nursing and political science, among many others. Eleven of the 79 are obtaining master’s degrees.
A total of 104 WKU student-athletes have graduated in the past calendar year, with 25 others earning their degrees in December. The average cumulative GPA of the 104 is 3.13.
Earlier this spring, WKU recognized 56 student-athletes who received Conference USA Academic Medals for having a grade point average of 3.75 or higher, the most of any school in the league, and a total of 197 WKU student-athletes, nearly 54 percent of its total number, earned Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognition from C-USA for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2014-15 academic year.
In the NCAA's latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) release in spring 2014, each of WKU's 19 teams exceeded the mandated 930 APR score by at least 16 points. WKU and Rice are the only C-USA schools in which every sponsored sport has an APR of 946 or higher.
