WKU Athletics and Hilltopper Athletic Foundation Launch "Power of One" Membership Drive

Throughout 2011, WKU student-athletes, coaches, staff and current HAF members will be campaigning to increase support for scholarship funding provided through the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation.

Membership in the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation serves as an investment in WKU Athletics and more importantly, Hilltopper student-athletes. The “POWER OF ONE” celebrates the impact of just ONE HAF membership while stressing the importance of ONE more.

Through this new referral program, incentives exist for current HAF members, based on the number of new members recruited and amount of new money raised. Additionally, two grand prize winners will choose from a trip for two to a WKU Basketball game or Football bowl game -or- a “Day in the Life” with your favorite WKU team!

“There are over 270,000 people in the 10-county region surrounding Bowling Green and many more alumni and friends of WKU in places like Louisville, Owensboro, Elizabethtown, and Nashville. Many of whom represent a large portion of our 88,000 alumni across the globe. If less than 3% of our alumni base and friends in our region were members of the HAF, it would impact our student-athletes and athletics program in a big way and ensure our continued success moving forward. The 'Power of One' campaign is one of the most important endeavors we will undertake to insure our long term viability as a leader in college athletics and higher education.”

-Ross Bjork, WKU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics

“The 'Power of One' is all about the WKU student-athlete. The revenue generated from this initiative will provide our students essential resources to compete athletically, while simultaneously receiving a valuable degree from this great institution. Our stretch goal is to increase membership from 1600 to 2011 this year. Everyone can be a part of this achievement, and no level of support is too small. HAF memberships start as low as $50 annually -- less than $5 a month! Join us...recruit at least ONE new HAF member in 2011.”

-Craig Browning, Hilltopper Athletic Foundation Board President
