BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Single-session tickets for the A?ropostale Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments went on sale for the first time Monday, the Western Kentucky University Athletic Ticket Office announced.
The event will take place at E.A. Diddle Arena on the WKU campus from March 6-11.
Tickets are priced at $18 for each session, and are required of all entrants three years old and up. Tournament books are also still available, although 4,507 have been sold with three days remaining before play begins Thursday at 3 p.m. (CST).
The WKU Athletic Ticket Office will be open from 8-6 p.m. Tuesday, 8-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and 8-1:30 p.m. both Thursday and Friday. For more information or to buy tickets, call 745-5222 or 1-800-5-BIG RED. Session tickets will also be sold during tournament games at the arena.
In another announcement, the only game from the tournament to be carried live on television locally is the men's championship, which will be shown by ESPN on Tuesday at 8 p.m. It's the 24th consecutive year that the network will air the Sun Belt's title contest.
Both the Hilltoppers (21-8, 12-2 Sun Belt) and the Lady Toppers (19-8, 12-2 SBC) won the league's East Division crowns and will receive a bye in the opening round. The women begin play against the North Texas/Arkansas-Little Rock winner Saturday at 1:30 p.m., with the men facing the winner of the opening-round contest between New Orleans and Florida International at 8 p.m. that night.
