Richards — who is currently practicing orthopaedic medicine at Western Kentucky Orthopaedic Associates, and is on the orthopaedic surgery staff at Greenview Regional Hospital and The Medical Center at Bowling Green — joins Drs. Craig Beard, John Burch and Phil Turner on WKU’s medical team. Drs. Robert Goodwin and Jerry Martin serve in emeriti roles.
Richards is a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Kentucky Medical Association, Kentucky Orthopedic Society and Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society, while he is also a fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Sports Medicine.
He is a 1982 graduate of Arizona State with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, where he earned Dean’s List honors and was a member of the Beta Beta Beta Honor Society. Richards attended medical school at Texas, and he completed both his internship and his residency at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He also completed his fellowship at the Lipscomb Clinic in Nashville.
Richards is licensed in Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas.
He has been published on 14 occasions and also been a part of 35 abstracts/presentations.
