WKU Cheerleading Competes in National Competition

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The WKU Cheerleaders competed in the 2011 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Competition, produced by Universal Cheerleaders Association and Universal Dance Association.

The prestigious competitiong showcased the country’s best college cheerleaders, dance team performers and mascots. The competition was held January 14-16 in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

WKU’s All Girl Squad competed in the Division I finals and tied for sixth place out of 14 entries. The All Girl Squad finished ahead of Temple University, Rutgers University and Texas State University.

WKU’s Coed Squad competed in the Division IA finals and finished sixth out of 15 entries. The Coed Squad finished ahead of the University of Hawaii, University of Memphis, Ohio State University, University of Tennessee and Mississippi State University.
