WKU Cheerleaders Head to National Championships

Jan. 13, 2016 BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU Cheerleading team will compete in the UCA College National Cheerleading Championships at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. this weekend.

Last year, WKU was one of only three programs to have two teams finish in the top-10 in two divisions, joining Alabama and Morehead State.

On Saturday, WKU’s co-ed team will perform at approximately 3:46 PM (CT) against 23 colleges and universities including Mississippi State, Florida State, Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee and LSU. Last year, the co-ed squad placed fifth in the division.

Also on Saturday, WKU’s all-girl team will perform at approximately 5:57 PM (CT) against 17 college and universities. WKU placed eighth in the all-girl division last year.

On Sunday, the top-placing teams of every division move on to national championship competition. Those routines can be seen between 5-7 PM (CT). Tickets may be purchased on location at the ESPN Wide World Of Sports complex.
