BOWLING GREEN, Ky. --  The WKU men's tennis team will look to break into the win column this weekend as the Hilltoppers travel to take on Lindsey Wilson on Saturday and Morehead State on Sunday. The matchup with Morehead State will be the second match against a former OVC foe in the last three matches, as the Hilltoppers fell 7-0 to longtime OVC rival Austin Peay last weekend.

Sunday's meeting with Morehead State will be the 32nd all-time match between the two programs, with the Eagles holding a slim 17-14 all-time advantage over WKU. Morehead State has dominated the series as of late, winning each of the last eight meetings against the Hilltoppers, including a 5-2 win in Bowling Green last season.

Lindsey Wilson and WKU will meet for the eighth time, as the Blue Raiders have won five straight over the Hilltoppers. WKU won each of the first two meetings between the two programs, but has not beaten Lindsey Wilson since the 2004 season. 

The Hilltoppers continue to get production out of young talent, as four newcomers have seen action in the first two matches, with Josh Smith playing both matches from the No. 1 singles and doubles position. 

WKU (0-2) is set to begin play against Lindsey Wilson on Saturday from Columbia, Ky., at 4:00 p.m. (CT) and then at 1:00 p.m. (CT) on Sunday from Morehead, Ky., against Morehead State. The Hilltoppers are scheduled to follow the women's action on both days, as the Lady Toppers are also set to take on Lindsey Wilson and Morehead State this weekend.

• Saturday's match will mark  the eighth all-time meeting between Lindsey Wilson and WKU. The Blue Raiders lead the all-time series 5-2. 
• WKU has lost five consecutive matches to Lindsey Wilson dating back to the 2005 season. WKU's last win over Lindsey Wilson came on February 8, 2004.
• WKU and Lindsey Wilson last played on March 27, 2010 in Bowling Green, with the Blue Raiders defeating the Hilltoppers 4-3. 
• WKU is off to its first 0-2 start since 2003 when the Hilltoppers started that season 0-4. The Hilltoppers, however, are 4-1 in the last five years in the third match of the season. 
• WKU completely switched up its doubles teams against Austin Peay, giving the Hilltoppers six different doubles tandems through two matches this season.

• Saturday will be the 32nd all-time meeting between WKU and Morehead State. The Eagles lead the all-time series 17-14, but have won each of the last eight meetings. The schools first met back in 1968.   
• Currie Martin and Lance Freeman each picked up a singles win and teamed up to earn a doubles win against Morehead State on February 20, 2011. Martin and Freeman were the only Hilltoppers to pick up wins, however, as Morehead State defeated WKU 5-2.
• WKU went 4-4 when playing on Sunday in 2011. This will be the Hilltoppers first Sunday match of the 2012 season.

• Freshmen J.T. Closi and Brody Freeman went the distance against Austin Peay, with each forcing their respective singles to a third set. Freeman fell in the final set 12-10 after taking the second set, 7-6.
• Freshman Josh Smith has played each of the first two matches from the No. 1 singles and doubles position. The Hilltoppers managed just one win from the No. 1 singles position last season.
• Hilltopper newcomers Josh Smith, J.T. Closi and Brody Freeman all made their WKU debuts in the season opener against Lipscomb. Smith played from the No. 1 singles spot in his first official match.
• Junior Lance Freeman was the lone Hilltopper to pick up a singles win over Lipscomb in the opening match of the season. Freeman currently has a .500 or better record in four different singles positions.
• WKU senior Arul Selvan is just three singles wins away from reaching the 30-win plateau.
• The WKU men's program returns both of its top singles performers from 2011. In 2012, WKU has six newcomers on the current roster, including four freshmen expected to make immediate impacts.
• Kaleb Ball was the only freshman to see action for the Hilltoppers in 2011. In 2012, WKU will have six newcomers on the current roster, including four freshmen expected to make impacts this season.
• With the additions of Kento and Yushi Okita and Brody Freeman to the 2012 Hilltopper roster, WKU now has two sets of siblings and a cousin on the current roster. Kento and Yushi Okita are brothers from Fort Wright, Ky., while Brody Freeman is the cousin to Lance and Morgan Freeman, who are brother and sister.
