The radio show - which airs each Monday throughout the season from 6-7 p.m. (CT) on the Hilltopper IMG Sports Network flagship station 103.7 The Point (WPTQ-FM) - will take the air for the first time on Aug. 27. The one-hour show will once again originate from Toot's Restaurant on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green. Selected players, assistant coaches and special guests will join Taggart and host Randy Lee, the "Voice of the Hilltoppers". The broadcast can also be heard online each week at www.wkusports.com.
The new official WKU Football t-shirt will be on sale for $9.99 at Toot's during this Monday's show.
In addition to the radio show, the season debut of the weekly Willie Taggart Television Show will be Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m. on WKYU-PBS. The show will also reair on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
The 2012 season marks Taggart's third as head coach at his alma mater. Coming off a 7-5 season in 2011, and a second-place finish in the Sun Belt Conference, the Hilltoppers open the season next Saturday (Sept. 1) against Austin Peay at 6 p.m. (CDT) at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium. Season tickets for all six home games can still be purchased for as low as $50 by contacting the WKU Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-5 BIG RED.
The Hilltoppers will wrap up the third and final week of fall camp tomorrow, capping things off with the fourth annual Family Fun Day event from 4-6 p.m. at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
