JONESBORO, Ark. - Led by sophomore April Butler (Paducah, Ky.), WKU stands in third place entering the final round of the Lady Red Wolf Classic at Sage Meadows Country Club.
The Lady Toppers shot 300 in Monday's afternoon round to climb the leaderboard after opening with a 316 in the morning. It was the first time the Lady Toppers have been on the course since Sept. 25 for competition. WKU is one of two Sun Belt Conference teams in the eight-team field.
Butler shot a pair of 72 and stands in fifth place at even par entering the final round of play.
Freshman Ellinor Haag (Sweden) stands in a tie for 14th place after posting a second round score of 71. Freshman Michaela Bordeianu stands in a tie for 25th place with 18 holes remaining.
The tournament marks the first ever appearance for WKU on the Sage Meadows Country Club landscape. The Sage Meadows course is playing at a distance of 6,106 yards and a par of 72.
The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
