The pair was instrumental to not only the Lady Toppers athletic success, but also to the success in the classroom. The women’s track and field squad was also honored with All-Academic status by the USTFCCCA on Thursday.

Flowers placed second in the indoor weight throw and outdoor discus on her way to being named the Sun Belt’s Most Outstanding Field Performer. She closed her senior campaign with a 15th place finish in the discuss at the NCAA Championships to garner second-team All-America honors.
Distance runner Michelle Finn ended her career on a high note as well, capturing a Sun Belt title and school record in the steeplechase. She also crossed the line second in the 5,000-meters and third in the 1,500 meters for all-conference honors.
The WKU Men’s Track and Field team was also honored by the USTFCCCA Thursday, earning Division I All-Academic distinction after posting a cumulative spring GPA of 3.10. The accolade adds to an already historic year for the Hilltopper track program, as they swept the Sun Belt Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Championships for the first Triple Crown in school history.
