DIDDLE'S LEGACY EXPANDS TO FOOTBALL; LEGENDARY COACH WINS 38 


E.A Diddle birthed the “Red Towel” into the WKU brand and won 759 games on the hardwood. But did you know that the legendary coach also won 38 games as the head football coach at WKU? Diddle led WKU to a winning record in five of his seven seasons, including what was then a program-best nine wins in 1922. 

WKU’s lone loss in the 1922 season came to Vanderbilt. During his seven-year tenure Diddle notched four victories over in-state rival Louisville and three victories over current Sun Belt Conference foe Middle Tennessee. With a career record of 38-24-2, Diddle is second all-time in football winning percentage.
