RAINEY RUSHES INTO RECORD BOOKS WITH 45 CARRIES
Former WKU running back Bobby Rainey was no stranger to getting carries – a lot of carries. On November 20, 2010, Rainey got 45 of them, setting a new single-game record at WKU for rushing attempts.
Rainey finished that particular game against Middle Tennessee rushing for 248 yards on 45 carries, averaging over five yards per rush in the game.
Rainey finished the 2010 season with 340 carries, setting a WKU single-season record. Not to be outdone, Rainey would then beat his own record in 2011, rushing 369 times for a school record 1,695 yards.
