KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- USA Swimming, including former WKU swimmer Claire Donahue, held an open practice day and media availability Thursday morning at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

The entire USA Swimming squad went through two hours of practice in front of approximately 1,500 fans and 100 media members. Donahue went through her workout in the main pool, alternating between butterfly work and general swimming techniques.

Afterwards, members of the team met with the media attending the open practice day. Donahue spoke with local and regional media, as well as media from Bowling Green, before signing autographs for fans.

USA Swimming will depart for Paris, France, this weekend, where it will train for a week before heading to London for final preparations and the Olympic Games. The team has been training in Knoxville for the past week.

Donahue begins Olympic competition in the 100-meter butterfly on Saturday, July 28. More information on how to follow WKU's first United States swimming Olympian will follow.
