COLUMBIA, Ky. -- For the third time in as many matches, the WKU women's tennis team was able to hang on for a one-point win, this time earning a 4-3 win over Lindsey Wilson on Saturday in Columbia, Ky.

The win over the Blue Raiders ends a four-match losing streak against Lindsey Wilson for the Lady Toppers and avenges a 6-1 defeat the Blue Raiders handed WKU back in 2010.

The Lady Toppers (3-2) have now won three consecutive matches after dropping the first two matches of the season.

Sophomore Monta Reinfelde, fresh off her Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week award on Wednesday, continued her stellar play on Saturday, improving to 5-0 in both doubles and singles play on the season.

Reinfelde won from the top singles spot over Trina Slapeka in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, giving Reinfelde two consecutive wins over Slapeka after the two dueled it out in the Blue Raider Fall Tennis Classic during the fall portion of the schedule. Reinfelde took home first place honors in the tournament.

Reinfelde and teammate Maddie Phillips picked up a win at the top doubles spot on Saturday, improving to 4-0 as a doubles team with an 8-4 win over Slapeka and Slavica Milanovic.

Freshman Carolina Barboza has also caught fire for the Lady Toppers of late, as she picked up her third-straight singles win from the No. 2 spot, defeating Lindsey Wilson's Diana Gerlakh in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. Barboza improves to 3-2 in singles play on the year, while also picking up a doubles win with teammate Alex Crofford

Crofford and Barboza improved to 3-2 as a doubles tandem on the year, as the duo have been paired together in all five matches in 2012. Crofford also upped her career doubles mark to 17-9 - the second highest Lady Topper total over the last two seasons.

Sophomore Morgan Freeman was the third Lady Topper to pick up a singles win on Saturday, as Freeman defeated Anna Garpindashvili in straight sets from the No 5 singles spot, 6-2, 6-3. The win was the first for Freeman in 2012 after she picked up six singles wins as a freshman in 2011.

The Lady Toppers were scheduled to travel to Morehead, Ky., on Sunday, but the match has been cancelled.

WKU will have to wait to extend its win streak until March 2, when the Lady Toppers are scheduled to host SIU-Edwardsville in the 2012 home opener.
