BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Western Kentucky University baseball team will hold its annual Labor Day Showcase on Sunday, September 2 at Nick Denes Field on the campus of WKU.

The showcase will feature two separate sessions for campers, with the morning session lasting from 8:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and the afternoon session going from 12:30 p.m.-5:15 p.m. on Sunday.

The Labor Day Showcase has long been an outstanding opportunity for athletes to showcase their abilities in front of WKU coaches. In fact, 15 players on the current Hilltopper baseball roster have attended a WKU showcase or camp before attending WKU.

The showcase will allow athletes to go through a professional-style workout, take batting practice on the WKU field, go through  various workouts in the state-of-the-art hitting facility, take part in pre and post-game pitching routines and participate in a live scrimmage to wrap up the day.

Aside from a full day of workouts and drills, all athletes will have the opportunity to tour the new WKU baseball clubhouse, the WKU weight room and other landmarks around the WKU campus.

Athletes interested in attending the 2012 WKU Baseball Labor Day Showcase can simply visit www.wkubaseballcamp.com and click on the "Labor Day Showcase" tab on the left side of the page. More information can be obtained by contacting the WKU baseball office.
