WKU AND AUSTIN PEAY TO MEET FOR 42ND TIME
The Hilltoppers will open the season at home for the first
time since 2005, hosting longtime Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay in
what will be the 42nd all-time meeting between the two programs. The
42 meetings rank as the sixth-most against one opponent in WKU football
history.
WKU has never lost to Austin Peay in Bowling Green, owning a 20-0 record over the Governors in home contests. The Hilltoppers lead the all-time series 34-6-1, with their last loss to Austin Peay coming in 1995 in Clarksville, Tenn.
The Hilltoppers and the Governors last met back in 2006, with WKU winning 24-14 in Bowling Green, giving the Hilltoppers four-consecutive wins over Austin Peay dating back to the 1996 season.
