Are you ready for some football? WKU Athletics counts you down to opening day at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium on September 1, 2012 with the 50-day “Countdown to Kickoff” series on WKUSports.com. Each day will be accompanied by a significant number in WKU football history.
HARBAUGH RACKS UP 46 WINS BY 20 OR MORE POINTS
Not only did former WKU head football coach Jack Harbaugh win, he also won big. The coach that led the Hilltoppers to the 2002 Division I-AA National Championship won 46 games during his coaching career by 20 or more points, including six during the 2002 season.
Harbaugh’s 2000 season saw the Hilltoppers win eight games by 20 or more points, en route to an 11-win season. Over Harbaugh’s final three years at the helm of the program, WKU won 18 out of its 40 games by 20 or more points, putting together a 31-9 record during that span.
Harbaugh ended his career on the Hill with a 91-68 record, ranking second in coaching wins behind only the legendary Jimmy Feix.
