MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. — The WKU men's golf team will be in 11th place entering the final round of the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Wednesday after shooting a 314 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 635 in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
The Hilltoppers are 11 strokes behind 10th-place ULM. North Texas leads Middle Tennessee by seven shots before play concludes on Wednesday. The Mean Green have carded a 580 as a team after two rounds, and North Texas' Ty Spinella is the individual leader with a one-under par 143 so far.
Cameron Beal is the highest-placing Hilltopper entering Wednesday after improving eight strokes on Tuesday and sitting tied for 29th with a two-day total of 156. Brandon Beckham is tied for 39th with a 158, and Will Beard is tied for 44th after a second-round 82 has him at 160. Doug Kleeschulte is tied for 48th with a 161, and Andrew Heiser is 55th with a 173 for the tournament.
The tournament's third and final round is Wednesday.
