WKU Track and Field senior Lexia Robinson has been named the Sun Belt Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week after her record-setting discus throw at the Kentucky Relays, the league announced Wednesday.
With spring football at a close, the WKU Football program moves towards their summer camp season and kicks it off with the annual WKU Women's Football Clinic on Saturday, May 31 at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
Down 9-2 early in the contest, the Western Kentucky University softball team (31-16-1) staged a comeback off of freshman Kaylan Davis' three-run home run, but the early deficit would be too much to overcome, as No. 9 Kentucky (39-9) won 11-8 on Tuesday at the WKU Softball Complex.
The WKU pitching staff held No. 12 Louisville (29-11) to three runs on seven hits at Jim Patterson Stadium Tuesday night but that was all the Cardinals needed to edge the Hilltoppers, 3-1.
